SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2025
- The SSC CHSL Tier I exam is a computer-based online test (CBT) exam conducted online.
- Candidates are given a total of 60 minutes to solve the SSC CHSL Tier-I paper comprising 100 questions that count to a total of 200 marks (2 marks each question).
- For each wrong attempt, candidates are penalised with 1/2 marks in the Tier-1 exam.

The skill test of the SSC CHSL exam pattern 2025 is qualifying in nature. Candidates have to qualify for this to get their name in the final merit list.
Skill Test for DEO in Ministries or Departments (Grade ‘A’)
- You need to type 15,000 key depressions per hour.
- The test will last for 15 minutes.
- You’ll be given a passage in English with around 3700 to 4000 key depressions.
- You must type this passage accurately on the computer.
- The passage may be shown on-screen or given in printed form.
- The authorities will check your typing speed and accuracy.
Skill Test for DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ in Other Departments
- Required typing speed is 8,000 key depressions per hour.
- The test will also be 15 minutes long.
- You’ll receive an English passage with about 2000 to 2200 key depressions.
- Your task is to enter the passage into the computer.
- The passage will appear on the screen or be given on paper.
